HOW DOES IT WORK?
Torigen®’s treatment teaches the immune system to attack cancer cells in your pet’s body.
A unique vaccine is made from some of your pet’s solid tumor and an immune system stimulant. The vaccine is injected under the skin once weekly for 3 weeks. These injections train the immune system to find cancer cells in your pet’s body and kill them. This is known as cancer immunotherapy.
WHY USE IT?
• Personal – The vaccine is made from your pet’s own cancer cells, so their immune system is trained against their specific cancer.
• Many cancer types – A vaccine can be made from any solid tumor, so this treatment can be used for many different cancers.
• Short treatment time – Vaccines are given over 3 weeks for dogs and cats, and over 6 weeks for horses.
WHAT IS THE PROCESS?
Your veterinarian removes the mass and sends it to our lab. This step may also include histopathology (determining if the mass is cancer).
If the mass is cancerous, we make your pet’s vaccine and send it to your veterinarian.
Your veterinarian gives a vaccine dose under the skin every 7 days for 3 doses in dogs and cats, and for 6 doses in horses.
WOULD MY PET BE A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR TORIGEN®?
Because the vaccine is made directly from cancer cells, this treatment can be used for multiple cancer types in dogs, cats, and horses. Talk with your veterinarian to see if the Torigen® vaccine is right for your pet.
